My submission for February’s ATC swap.
My baby will be 15 in a few weeks, it’s so crazy to think how fast time has flown by raising these incredible boys of mine. They are 19,17 and almost 15. One of my favorite things to do is sit with them and listen to their stories of growing up. Usually we end up laughing ourselves to tears. I’ve been realizing more and more how precious these moments are, soon my guys will be moving out of the nest and starting their lives. I packed a basket full of Smash Books/journal supplies into a basket today and loaded it with some random pictures from when they where little. It will live on the kitchen table for a little while and I hope I can capture some of these precious memories in writing.
Been doing a little organizing in my craft room and filling my printer tray with lots of punch outs for making embellishments. I love the way it looks, all those tiny pieces of beautiful paper. So cute! My desk on the other hand looks like a tornado landed.
Fun but busy holidays around here for sure! Still getting caught up on posts and uploading photos from all of the holiday festivities. I hosted a holiday cookie exchange this year, it was so much fun! We drank mimosas, ate cookies, played games and had a wonderful time. I wanted to make a special party favor/gift for everyone to take home (besides the amazing cookies of course) so I whipped up these mini recipe albums and added a photo copy of my cookie recipe to each one. They were a big hit!
Cold snowy weekend here. Great weekend to break out the holiday decorations!
I found these great vintage woven blankets today while thrifting. I think they may become pillows or possibly Christmas stockings. I try to hit the Thrift stores once a week for old books. But I always take a cruise around and see what other goodies jump out at me. I look for vintage silver-plate, picnic baskets, vintage luggage, old lace, ironstone, ribbon and dollies to add to my journals, and I’m a sucker for old office supplies. The tea stained appearance of a forgotten manila file folder is one of my favorite colors. But these blankets, my oh my! My heart skipped a beat when I saw them.
I coffee dyed tags a couple weekends ago and have been using them in a lot of my journals and mini albums lately. They look neat and smell awesome too! I used one of my favorite paper lines for this journal, and lots of found papers and “junque”.
